Wilson Ship Managment
Wilson – Photos & Vessel Data
Overview of vessels owned or managed by Wilson ASA – Europe’s largest short-sea shipping company. Wilson was established in its current form in 1993 and is based in Bergen, Norway. Wilson ASA was formed in 1993 following the merger of Paal Wilson & Co (established 1942) and Jebsens (established 1929), with the creation of Jebsen Wilson Euro Carriers as the operating arm. In 1995, Kristian Eidesvik acquired a majority stake and renamed the company Wilson ASA in 2001. Wilson operates approximately 135 multipurpose and coaster vessels (DWT 1,500–8,500 tonnes), of which approximately 110 are technically managed by the company itself. The Norge-Rhin Linjen is a weekly liner service between Duisburg and various ports along the Norwegian coast. With a fleet of approximately 30 river and ocean-going vessels, Wilson is the largest provider of direct transport from the Rhine.
In September 2020, Wilson ASA entered into a strategic partnership with Arkon Shipping GmbH & Co. KG. Arkon serves as Wilson’s exclusive commercial representative in the charter market, leasing approximately 20 modern minibulk vessels, including new Hanse-Eco vessels. This partnership strengthens Wilson’s position as a leading short-sea operator in Europe.
