Zijlstra, Den Helder B.J. 1987 ) The damage was minor and there were no injuries, the “SANDETTIE” sustained damage to the bow and went to Harlingen for inspection, the HD 36 sailed back to Den Helder under its own power. |
15-12-2012: | A cargo ship has been impounded at Devon port of Teignmouth after its captain was held on suspicion of drinking. Police supported by Maritime and Coastguard Agency officers attended the cargo vessel “SANDETTIE” anchored at Teignmouth Docks just before 6pm. It is understood that the captain of the Dutch registered ship was breathalysed and subsequently arrested. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they had attended a ship on Saturday evening. “A male was breathalysed and arrested and the vehicle has been impounded at this time,” he said. The “SANDETTIE”, which measures nearly 90 metres in length and when full weighs just under 3,000 tonnes, arrived at the South Devon port from Brunsbüttel in northern Germany on 12-12-2012. |
14-06-2018: | Grounding off Scheveningen. In the evening the “SANDETTIE” ran aground off Scheveningen at the South Beach. The ship was on its way into port to pick up two crew members prior to its voyage to Pasajes, when it got stuck during the outgoing tide. The ship had to wait for some hours before coming off again next day at 2 a.m. It dropped anchor on Katwijk anchorage in pos. 52° 11.17′ N 004° 14.55′ E. |
