27-02-1996: | En route with a load of steel (coils) from IJmuiden to Kolding in the Langlands Belt, collided in dense fog with the German naval vessel “WESTERWALD”. Was able to continue the journey to Kolding. The damage (approx. NLG 200,000) was repaired in March 1996 at the Oranjewerf in Amsterdam. |
06-02-1999: | Coming from Lugnvik in the Gulf of Bothnia, bundled packages of wood were heeled to about 40º due to the shifting of the deck cargo, after which part of the deck cargo went overboard. Sailed to Iggesund and unloaded the remainder of the deck cargo. After inspection the journey to Amsterdam continues. |

01-12-2016: | Flag Congo, call sign 9OFG. In 2016, a number of ships were flagged to Congo. These flags are illegal and created by a company that cheated. I.H.S. received a visit from people who manage their registry. According to I.H.S. no ships were registered in that register in 2016. This also includes the “MARTHA” (7516694). |
27-06-2017: | Arrived at La Luz Port in Gran Canaria. |
07-12-2018: | Laid up in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. The ship had arrived in Gran Canaria in precarious conditions, with hardly any fuel or food for its crew, who had not received any salary for several months. The vessel was inspected a short time later by the regional coordinator of the Animal Health Inspection of the Government of the Canary Islands who found the merchandise had a significant amount of humidity, which was also evidenced by the marked smell of moisture that came out of the cargo hold. The load had been covered with a white layer that was identified as mold as well as plant sprouts. The inspection revealed that the goods could not be used for consumption – the rice husk is mainly used for the production of feed for livestock – due to the absence of specific information on its origin. The “Marin” did not carry any type of documentation that guaranteed the traceability of the raw material that remained stored in its cargo hold beyond the port in which it had been stowed. |
