06-01-2011: Collided southwest of Malta with a much smaller Italian fishing boat. Three of the seven people on board the fishing boat suffered minor injuries, the Italian news agency Adnkronos reported. The accident happened about 55 kilometers south of the Italian island of Lampedusa. The authorities in Sicily have launched an investigation into the circumstances. Both ships were escorted to the Sicilian port of Mazara del Vallo. The Kliftrans was on its way from Turkey to Wales.
