21-10-2002: | During a voyage from Finland to the Netherlands, fire broke out in the engine room, brought under control by the salvage company and the Swedish Navy, towed to Vaasa. |
21-03-2006: | In Kiel Canal between Kudensee and Dükerswich collided with the m.s. DALSLAND. The accident found place when the two ships would pass each other at kilometer 15.5. According to the Wasserschuttzpolizei, the collision was the result of rudder failure on the DALSLAND, during the evasive maneuver of the FLINTERZEE both ships hit each other starboard to starboard. The crew of the DALSLAND was able to emergency steering gear prevented the ship from running ashore. The FLINTERZEE came into the southern bank stuck, quickly recovered under its own power. None of the passengers on board the ships has suffered physical injury. The DALSLAND suffered dents in the bow while the FLINTERZEE had damage to the hatch crane and the bulwark near the bridge was crushed. The FLINTERZEE continued to Brunsbüttel, the DALSLAND to Kiel and inspected there. |
