12-02-2003: About 30 miles west of Oléron Island in the Bay of Biscay, position 46.07 N. and 02.07 WL. collided with the French fishing vessel “PÉPÉ RORO”, which sank with 3 men on board. To Lorient for investigation, there was
afterwards much ambiguity about the exact circumstances of the accident, at first sight the hull of the Dutch ship showed no signs of a collision, the prosecutor’s office in Lorient did not rule out the possibility trawl net of the fisherman from Sables d’Olonne got stuck in rocks on the seabed, causing the ship to pulled over.
23-12-2017: Grounding in Svendborg. The ‘FAMITA’ ran aground in Svendborg while entering port. The grounding was caused by a mechanical malfunction and strong wind. The ship was refloated on Dec 24 at 2 a.m. with tug assistance, and taken to port, where she was berthed at 02.30 a.m. arrived at Svendborg from Sandnes.
