| 01-07-2010: | During extreme weather conditions, the “FIVELBORG” broke loose at the Ferus Smit Shipyard in Leer. A nearby crane fell over the ship and the adjacent warehouse. The extent of the damage is unknown. No injuries were reported. Due to its position, the ship is blocking the Industriehafen. Tugboats are holding the ship in its current position to prevent further damage to the ship or the harbor. After the crane is removed, the “FIVELBORG” will be moored back to the quay, reopening the harbor for shipping traffic. |
