| 28-07-2012: | In the night of July 28, 2012, the VESTBORG ran aground in the Steinsvik Bay off Bolandet in Herøy Sunnmøre. The crew of six was not injured. The ship got stuck near a boathouse on the east side of Leinøy. The vessel was pulled off by the lifeboat “Halfdan Grieg” at 2:28 a.m. and proceeded with own power. It was moored at the Hurtigruten-Quay in Torvik. |
| 28-06-2016: | Grounding off Nordreisa. The “Vestborg” ran aground in the estuary of the Reisa River in Nordreisa in the afternoon of June 28, 2016. The ship was waiting for the high tide which was expected at 9 p.m. and the assistance of another ship of the same company, Seaworks, the “Martin H”, to get off the sandbank. In the morning of June 29 the ship finally refloated again. |
| 20-01-2022: | Former Dutch seagoing vessel abandoned by crew after heavy listing and sunk. The Norwegian coaster BJUGNFJORD was heavily listed in the Kattegat in Danish waters after 2000 UTC on January 20, in rough weather, about 10 miles north of the north coast of the island of Zealand, Denmark, while en route from Copenhagen to Randers. The ship issued a distress signal and requested evacuation. Helicopter was deployed, all 5 crew members were rescued, 2 were lifted from the ship and 3 from a lifeboat. Cause of cargo shifts, which increased the ship’s list. Last AIS signal dated 2130 UTC January 20 Danish and Swedish naval vessels keep an eye on the floating BJUGNFJORD. Tonight at about 11 pm the former Dutch BJUGNFJORD sank approximately 11 nautical miles north of Gilleleje near the island of Sealand (Sjælland). |
