19-12-1988: Christened ‘FRIESLAND’ by Mrs. Neelie Smit-Kroes (Minister of Transport and Water Management) and launched.
16-01-1989:Sea trials on Hollands Diep.
17-02-1989:Delivered to B.V. Terschellinger Stoomboot Maatschappij, Terschelling.
26-04-1989:Planned first arrival on Terschelling. RWS prohibited entry into the port of Terschelling because the ship is too big for the port, which only became known this day. Back to Harlingen and laid up in the Nieuwe Willemshaven.
